More than 40 years after the discovery of tocopherols, tocotrienols – the other half of the vitamin E family – were first isolated by R.A. Morton [1]. Like tocopherols, tocotrienols can support fertility and provide antioxidant protection for all living cells [2]. These common attributes between tocotrienols and tocopherols reflect the similarity in their chemical structures, with the only difference in their side chains. Both tocotrienols and tocopherols have four isomeric forms: alpha (a), beta (b), gamma (g), and delta (d) — making up the eight members of the vitamin E family.
